Welcome to Protis Reviews. My name is Alan, and for an hour each week I will be showcasing the hottest releases from local artists in the Brisbane music scene, as well as those from interstate and overseas. I have been writing reviews of studio releases, be they singles or EPs, since June of 2024. I started reviewing live performances in September of 2024, and have been enjoying these immensely! My aim for this show is to see how it works in a radio format.
Dan Whittam has been in the music industry for around three decades. He and his partner Lisa run several open mic events in the local Brisbane area, under the banner Honey Badger Events. They are also hosting a workshop at Milton Common on Saturday the 25th of July, which is all about how to get paid gigs in the music industry. Dan and Lisa join Alan for a chat about this, as well as a whole lot more about what they do for the community in the musical space.
